Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
This gentle, specialised massage technique helps to redirect sluggish lymphatic fluid away from affected areas towards healthier lymph nodes, reducing swelling and discomfort. MLD is highly beneficial for both lymphoedema by promoting fluid movement and for lipoedema by easing associated tenderness and tissue congestion.
Pneumatic Compression
Also known as Air Compression Pump Therapy, this therapy uses a sequential pump and inflatable garments to apply controlled pressure, which helps to move fluid out of the affected limb or body part. It's particularly effective in reducing stubborn swelling in lymphoedema and can provide relief from the heaviness and aching often experienced with lipoedema.
Red Laser Light Therapy
- Reducing fibrosis and improving tissue flexibility
The light energy helps soften dense scar tissue and improve collagen alignment, leading to more pliable and mobile scars. - Decreasing pain and hypersensitivity
By modulating nerve activity, LLLT can reduce neuropathic sensations and improve comfort in the surgical area. - Supporting faster tissue healing
LLLT enhances cellular metabolism and increases blood flow, which helps accelerate the healing process.
Garment Fitting and Ordering
Compression garments (such as stockings, sleeves, or wraps) are crucial for maintaining reduced limb size and preventing fluid re-accumulation in lymphoedema. For lipoedema, custom-fitted garments provide essential support and compression to help manage symptoms like pain, heaviness, and swelling. We provide expert fitting to ensure optimal comfort, effectiveness, and adherence to your treatment plan.
